After spending one day in Irakleio in order to repair our car we took the road south towards Asterousia mt. There we followed a dirty road that was doing a round of the highest peak, Kofinas (1600m), and was ended up at Koudouma monastery . On the bird side, we were lucky enough to see a Bonelli’s Eagle twice, fighting with ravens though big flocks of Coughs were feeding in the mountainous wheatfields. Also we observed lots of Griffon Vultures but no sign of Bearded Vulture…A remarkable fact was a dead Vulture in the wheatfields but without any obvious cause of death.
